How to start and stop Android cloud phones

Ready to use your Android cloud phone? Start it from the “Mobile” profile list and stop it when your task is done.

➡️ Go to “Profiles” → “Mobile” → click the play icon next to the cloud phone. When you finish, click the stop icon.

Mobile minutes are used only while the phone is running. Your apps, files, and login session stay saved for the next time you open it.

Who can use this feature?

  • 👨‍💻 Account owner and all team members
  • 💰 Available on all plans

Before you start

Here’s a quick check to help the phone open correctly.

  • All users: make sure your computer meets the Multilogin system requirements
  • Linux users: install libwebkit2gtk-4.1-0
  • Web interface users: download, install, and connect the latest agent if the phone opens with a blank screen
  • Desktop app users: update Multilogin to the latest version if the display doesn’t load correctly

How to start cloud phones

Open “Profiles” and choose “Mobile”.

  • To start one phone: click the play icon next to its name
  • To start several phones: select them with the checkboxes, then click the play button in the top menu

Wait for the live Android screen to appear. A new cloud phone may take a little longer to open the first time. Once its required components are ready, future starts are usually faster.

Mobile minute usage begins when you click the play icon.

How to use cloud phones

Once the live screen opens, use it like a regular Android phone.

  • Open the phone menu: tap on the screen, drag upward, and release
  • Access the app store: click “Apps” in the bottom-right corner – this reveals the apps you can install without using proxy traffic
  • Explore features: the toolbar on the right lets you check the connection, follow your session time, rotate the screen, take screenshots, move files, and more

Our recommended setup

These settings aren’t required for every task, but our research found that they can make mobile account work smoother.

  • Use Android 16: it’s the best choice for running social media platforms and sensitive apps
  • Use strong devices: pick the right brand and model if you manage resource-intensive tasks
  • Choose mobile proxies: these are more effective for mobile accounts compared to residential proxies
  • Opt for SOCKS5 proxies: they work better for bypassing captchas and face fewer restrictions
  • Install Edge browser: this provides a smoother social media registration process
  • Use SMS verification: use SMS with a custom phone number for better registration results, as Gmail-based registration can trigger bans

How to stop cloud phones

When you’re finished, click the X icon in the phone window or the stop icon next to the profile. Your progress will be saved, and mobile minute billing will stop.

If you sometimes forget to close running phones, set up auto-stop under “Account settings” → “Profile behavior”.

If the same cloud phone stays open for three hours in one session, paid usage stops at 180 minutes. Any extra runtime during that session is free.
